The minute he made clear his rant was anti religion and anti Trump I would be on board for any adventure he wanted to take. Except for the loudness…usually they talk loud because they can’t hear good and you can tell them, we can hear you fine, your yelling and they’ll often realize and lower…and later forget…so use your hand to signal lower then they’ll remember again. If you’re lucky they appreciate the feedback. I appreciate your generosity to listen to him and it’s cool how your giving was given to in return and you felt better later. I think that’s an insight.
I couldn't agree more about the advantages of train travel. As someone who frequently travels between France and Holland, the train is far superior. Unlike airports located 30 miles outside the city center, train stations are right in the heart of the city, saving time and hassle. No long security queues or invasive checks – just a relaxed boarding process. Plus, trains offer more comfort and space compared to cramped airplane seats. I've tried the bus to save money, but the discomfort and longer travel times make it a miserable alternative. For convenience, comfort, efficiency, romanticism and slow rocking motion of sleep, the train is the clear winner...thanks !
Reminded me of some greyhound bus trips I’ve taken. There is something about the communal experience of traveling together that brings these kind of interactions out.
I came to Annaland with a bad case of the heeby-jeebies, seeking a Trump-free zone. I got into the mood. And there was the name I dread—twice. Art and life slam together in surprising ways. I did love the guy with the oxygen tank.
that was such a fun read. I also love trains
The old guy might be on to something, we'll know soon enough... (Dang, I miss Calvin & Hobbes.)

Oh man, that slow rocking for sleep is the absolute best!

Yeah. Although I learned the hard way with Greyhound: do not sit in back next to the bathroom.
oh man...

Oh no! I've been avoiding notes for the same reason and yet that excrescence managed to sneak into my OWN page, I'm sorry.
Not faulting you, by the way. What’s on our minds will seep into our words.
Perfect Calvin and Hobbes strip for this. Love that you included that.
