Very subtle wording, yet so relevant to the time period !

There's some real Stenbeck vibes here, and in a way that is genuine and not at all derivative.

Wonderfully written, with gripping details. I really loved the stories about the trip to the café and the Basque shepherds.

Hi Anna, To be honest, I don’t know much about you as a writer. I know this to my core: what I read was not only about pancakes. It was the most natural writing I could hope for. You have set in place everything you could need for a novel. If you choose not to write it, I will have to respect your choice. But that story is crying out to be written. Let a writer you trust read it, at least and get their opinion. Thank you for listening. Daniel

I keep saying a novel but a memoir might actually be a better vehicle for writing about the lives of your parents and you. This can’t end here! Of course it can, you are totally free to write as you wish. I just hope it doesn’t end here. Daniel

This story is blissful in the detail of your childhood experiences with both your parents. I can feel both settings, The Longhorn and the fire on the beach. What a wonderful storyteller you are. Thank you for sharing your parents with us and giving insight into the depth of each of their character--the importance they placed on giving you experiences and memories far more valuable than gold
